indirect comparison

今週の抄読会では、本多先生が「The impact of primary prophylaxis with granulocyte colony-stimulating factors on febrile neutropenia during chemotherapy: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials. Support Care Cancer. 2015 Mar 29. [Epub ahead of print] 」を読んでくれました。PEG型のG-CSFも通常のG-CSFもplaceboよりは、febrile neutropeniaが少ないという予想された結果でした。ただ、固形癌も血液腫瘍をひとまとめにしてmetaanalysisをしてよいものか。また、direct, indirect, and mixed-treatment comparisonといういわば三段論法の比較がmetaanalysisの中でははやりのようですが、背景もいろいろ違う試験をindirectで比較してもよいものか、少し疑問に思いました。
